Seasons greetings!

Dear friends,

We are always living in a hurry, absorbed by our concerns, worries and by our work. The coming years are full of uncertainties. We know that projects undertaken by the ESCB will bring major changes, although very inaccurate, as they do not allow us to have a clear vision of our professional future.

We must, however, find reasons to continue our directions and improve, sometimes safeguard, the working conditions of our colleagues the best as possible. These motivations must be reflected in the commitments we can take together.

Making a commitment is to decide to be free and to refuse to be affected. And also to show solidarity!

We have shown this kind of solidarity during the last meeting of the ESCB Social Dialogue when, at the very end, we spoke on one voice and we achieved our claims by having the agreement from the ECB to accept the establishment of a dedicated platform to SSM within the SD structure. This is not a small result! And it calls on others!

It's up to each one of us to to feel engaged on a common future and to bring her/his  contribution regarding the decline we have been experiencing in the working conditions inside our central banks.

Today, more than ever, we are facing controlled tools favoring individualism against the collective. We need to be aware and not let ourselves get stung by supposed practices claiming to be very favourable to the staff when we know that they can bring bad consequences to our working conditions.

In this spirit I wish you you all a prosperous and happy Year 2014 full of shared moments, conviviality and solidarity.
